This is the homepage for the Minnesota State University Moorhead archive of the Minnesota Automated Plate Scanner Catalog of the Palomar Observatory Sky Survey (Epoch I), hereafter the "MAPS Catalog". The MAPS Catalog contains photometric and astrometric information extracted from the Palomar Observatory Sky Survey (POSS I) for 89,234,404 obejcts in the night sky (56,391,694 point sources or "stars" and 32,842,710 extended objects or "galaxies"). The original version of the MAPS Catalog is available from the University of Minnesota Automated Plate Scanner project homepage.

This online version of the MAPS Catalog was constructed by Juan Cabanela, one of the authors of the MAPS Catalog. The MAPS Catalog was originally distributed on four DVDs to several astronomical data centers. The goal with this project is to make the catalog available in an interactive format, including some enhancements that improve my ability to use the MAPS Catalog for research. This version of the project is not directly tied to the University of Minnesota effort, although there is still a lot communication between the projects.

This site designed and programmed by Juan Cabanela, Matt Gray, and JT Olds.
